First Federal Savings Bank Raises $5000.00 for The United Way

About UsThousands came out Friday night for the 19th annual Pops in the Park concert at Freeman Lake Park. This event, hosted by First Federal Savings Bank is an annual event dedicated to raising money for the United Way of Central Kentucky. People gathered along the shore line of Freeman Lake to hear the Louisville Orchestra perform a “Tribute to John Williams” which consisted of music from famous movies like “Saving Private Ryan,” “Jaws” and “Superman.”

The evening began with the local Music and Arts Center of Cultural Learning Youth Orchestra, playing a variety of music, including several well known Disney tunes, such as “A Whole New World” from the movie “Aladdin” and “Under the Sea” from “The Little Mermaid.”

The Louisville Orchestra then took the stage and was introduced by First Federal Savings Bank’s own CEO Keith Johnson.

During the intermission First Federal’s President Greg Schreacke presented the United Way with a check for $5000.00 which was raised from ticket sales from this event. The United Way of Kentucky is a local organization that helps create better communities and a healthier life for all Kentuckians.

The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks show given by Zambelli Internationale, the producers of “Thunder Over Louisville.”

We would like to thank everyone that participated in this event. It was a true success.
